Cricket match experience

Yesterday, on the 2nd of May, I and my family for the first time went to see a live cricket match. As current trend of cricket is IPL, we went for the match Pune Warriors India vs Royal Challengers Bangalore. At first, I was supporting Bangalore. We had come with an intention of seeing the 'Gayle storm' from Bangalore while Pune should win - the place where we stay. I was really happy to see the stadium from outside itself. It was a great scenario.

We had taken binoculars, water and a camera but a camera was not allowed and we had even hid the water so that we don't need to pay the high prices inside (!). I bought the RCB flag but I was so excited that I did not use it much!! So now, I think that would be enough of our preparation.

Bangalore had won the toss and the had chosen to bat. When the match started, I was expecting a storm from starting itself but that did not happen and guess what, when Gayle hit his first six, he was out the next ball. I was really sad. By the time their third wicket had fallen, I was out of the hope that they would even make a 160 but then it was a pleasure to see AB de Villiers and Henriques to bat with 4s and 6s. They hit 26 from the last over and set 188 on the board.

By this time I was hungry. Although the food supplies in the stadium were very costly, the food was tasty especially the samosas. Now that the second innings started and the people of Pune were getting excited and were standing, I got up and went to the front of our South upper stand and leaned on the grill to enjoy the field. I thought that Pune never has the capacity to score that many (!). But slowly they picked up pace. They hit more sixes than they had hit fours (!). Robin Uthappa and Angelo Matthews were the stars here. But when Uthappa was out making 75, I lost hope of Pune's winning.

We left when only the last over's 5 balls were left. This was because we knew that Pune was not going to win. OK, this hurdle was done - getting out of the crowd. But we lost our way. We did not know where to go! There were about parking lots all looking identical except for their sizes! We noted that we got out of the stadium at twenty past eleven. By the time we walked back and forth three to four times almost all cars had cleared out and we finally found our car and it was ten to one (the next day). Then we drove back home.

Although the parking experience was really bad, the experience of going to the stadium and watching the cricketers live was very very good. I would want to go once more but that is up to future. I never thought that I would be seeing cricketers but yesterday, my dream came true.
